Simran Khatri is an exchange undergraduate student from University College Dublin, one of the topmost universities in Ireland and we are delighted to welcome her in our lab at NUS for one semester UROP Project on Enhancing Gene Editing Efficiency through Advanced Protein Optimization Techniques.
Simran has an academically strong background currently majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a completed minor in Statistics and Data Analytics. She has been engaged with projects related to CRISPR technology, Cannabis sativa and has completed 5-month long lab research involving microbiology principles in analysing Microbiome of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal fungi.
Her passion for biomedicine and research is fuelled by strong lab skills, data analysis, capabilities (Excel, R, Jasp), bioinformatics and effective communication honed through various leadership and voluntary roles.
We believe, Simran Khatri's skills and experience will certainly be a valuable asset to our team, and we look forward to the innovative ideas and insights she has to offer!
( Note: UROP or Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme allows students to work on an independent research project with the guidance from faculty and current PhD students. After the completion of lab work, students submit a detailed report and present their findings to NUS faculty. )
